Ikarus is currently engaged in the production and sale of state-of-the-art electric buses for domestic and export markets, and the series production of other metal products.
- The predecessor company of Ikarus was founded in Budapest in 1859. The main profile of the plant was the repair of carts and horseshoes.
- Until the early thirties, Ikarus built different and unique bodies on chassis from foreign manufacturers. Their vehicles ranged from trucks to buses.
- Production continued to grow, and in 1929 the 100th truck was built.
- The first bus produced by the Uhri Brothers was the MÁVAG N26/36.
- The company started manufacturing aircraft in 1942.
- Ikarus Body and Vehicle Works was founded in 1949, but the name Ikarus was only given in 1951. Due to a lack of chassis, Ikarus engineers developed the first self-supporting body bus, the Tr 3.5, which was completed in 1948.
- Ikarus reached its production peak in 1984 with 13,000 vehicles, making it the fourth largest bus factory in the world. The Ikarus 280 accounted for two-thirds of world bus production in the late 1970s and early 1980s. 75,547 units of the solo version of the Ikarus 260 have been sold, making it one of the world's best-selling buses.

- ASTRASUN Solar Nyrt. is a renewable energy company listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange. Its activities include the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects.
